Nick Diller

For 38 years Nick Diller was the morning host of WSBS Radio in Great Barrington, and then a cameraman for CTSB Television. When not behind the microphone or camera, Nick pursues his true passions: Weather watching, using weather records of Great Barrington dating back to 1965. He's been brewing beer since 1994. He's a master at barbecuing and grilling and often teaches others how to grill. And he makes various types of barbecue sauces under his Griller Diller label. (He grows his own hops for brewing) and being the nanny (Manny) of his granddaughter.

With the rain and melted precipitation, we exceeded the average for the fourth straight month. That’s good news for drought watchers.

Precipitation was not average. Even factoring in melted snow and adding that to rainfall totals did not equal the nearly 6-decade average.

September marks the ninth straight month the precipitation levels have been one-third to one-half below average.

Since Memorial Day Weekend rainfall has totaled 8.36 inches compared to an average of 13.4.

In 51 years of record keeping this year came in 13th on the driest July list.

With the jet stream to our south, keeping us in a dry weather pattern with very low dew points made this June the 15th driest in 51 years of record keeping.
