Edward Curtin
Trained in the classics, theology, and sociology, Edward Curtin is a former professor of sociology at MCLA, a widely published writer whose recent book is "Seeking Truth in a Country of Lies" (Clarity Press). He lives in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
Egremont Green Committee
The Egremont Green Committee submits periodic reports of their activities in the town of Egremont, Massachusetts.
Eileen Lawlor
Eileen Lawlor is a Board Certified Diplomat Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Registered Dance/Movement Therapist. She holds two masters degrees: one in Creative Arts Therapy and a second in Social Work. Her first career was in Theater with credits ranging from Broadway shows to numerous television commercials. Since 1980 Eileen has worked as an action-oriented Psychotherapist, and today maintains a small private practice in Great Barrington. She has lived in the Berkshires for the last twenty years.
Eli Newberger
After Yale College, where he was a Scholar of the House in music theory, Eli Newberger received his M.D. from Yale Medical School. He went from Peace Corps service in Burkina Faso, West Africa, to pediatric training at Boston Children’s Hospital, where over 30 years he founded and directed the Child Protection and Family Development Programs. In addition to eight books and more than 100 articles in the medical field, he applied techniques of musical analysis to the development of jazz piano style, reporting his findings in the Journal of Jazz Studies and Annual Review of Jazz Studies. Newberger’s book on strengthening the characters of boys and men, “The Men They Will Become” (Da Capo Books) appeared along with a jazz CD of the same title with pianist, Butch Thompson, and banjo/vocalist Jimmy Mazzy (Stomp Off Records). An active performer on piano and tuba, Newberger cofounded the New Black Eagle Jazz Band in 1970 and played piano and tuba with them for 31 years. With over 40 recordings to his credit, he won three national readers’ polls for best jazz tuba player. All of Newberger’s past musical publications and reviews, many medical articles, and numerous lectures and musical performances, may be found on his website. ( www.elinewberger.com ) Eli & The Hot Six, an all-star traditional jazz band, released its CD, "Contemporary Classic Jazz," ( https://www.cdbaby.com/elithehotsix ) at a sold-out concert, noted in the Boston Globe, at Scullers Jazz Club on Boston in 2015. The Hot Six are renowned in the Northeast for their heartfelt and virtuosic interpretations of the jazz age songbook: Bob Winter, the Boston Pops pianist, Bo Winiker, trumpet, bandleader, and frequent Boston Pops Conductor, Jimmy Mazzy, banjo and vocals, Ted Casher, clarinet and saxes, Herb Gardner, trombone, and Bob Tamagni, professor of percussion at Berklee College of Music.
Eli Schwartz
Hailing from Rochester, N.Y., Eli Schwartz is a film student at Ithaca college. His areas of study include Screenwriting, Directing, Lighting, and Film Analysis.
Elizabeth Keen
Since 1997, Elizabeth Keen and her husband Al Thorp have opened Indian Line Farm in South Egremont, Massachusetts, the first CSA in the country, founded by Robyn Van Em.
Elizabeth Nelson
Elizabeth Nelson is a writer, multidisciplinary artist, and marketing-communications professional. Her fiction and poetry can be read in The Raven Review, Second Chance Lit, Rhodora Magazine, Canyon Voices Magazine, Catchwater Magazine, and others. Colors Inside the Body received a reading at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater in NYC as part of Texas Wesleyan's 2019 Playmarket. In March 2018, The Athena Project workshopped The Golden Hour as part of its annual “Plays in Progress Series” in Denver, CO. Fugue (published under Laura Elizabeth Miller by Black Box Press) is regularly produced worldwide, and The Going Price (Steele Stage Rights) was selected in 2011 as part of Red Bull Theater’s inaugural Short New Play Festival. Stage directing credits include The Chess Lesson by Sari Caine, world premiere of Spark by Angela Santillo, Rumors, Tallgrass Gothic, Arsenic and Old Lace, Pillow Talk, and Emily. A graduate of Texas Wesleyan University and Sarah Lawrence College, Elizabeth was the original art director and managing editor for SDC Journal, a craft magazine published by Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) in NYC. Ellen Lahr
Ellen Lahr is a Housatonic resident and Berkshire back-road cyclist. She works as a public relations consultant for the town of Great Barrington.
Ellie Johnston
Ellie Johnston lives in Great Barrington. She is a program associate at Climate Interactive, on the Board of Directors for SustainUS, and a co-founder and facilitator of 350MA Berkshires.
Elliott Morss
Elliott Morss graduated from Williams College in 1960 and earned a Ph.D. in political economy at Johns Hopkins University in 1963. He has worked in 45 countries with the International Monetary Fund and as an entrepreneur. He has taught at Harvard University, University of Michigan, Brandeis, and University of Palermo in Buenos Aires. Morss is the author of six books and published more than 50 articles in professional journals. He is a regular contributor to Seeking Alpha and Global Economic Intersection.
Emily Thurlow
Emily Thurlow is a longtime journalist who's roved from central and western Massachusetts, Arizona, Pennsylvania and into the Berkshires. Emma Kostyun
Emma Kostyun is a tenth-grader at Pittsfield High School and is involved in their theater department, band, Speech and Debate Club, and Mural Club, and is also a part of the PHS newspaper. She spends her free time reading, writing, painting, listening to music, watching movies, singing and dancing. Emma feels a deep connection to helping those around her and is known by the people close to her as someone who would drop anything to help someone who needed it.
Erica Fay
Interior designer, Erica Fay works with unique clients in varying styles and situations throughout the Berkshire County, Ma region where she has created dozens of distinctive homes and outstanding renovation designs. She began training in her native Denver and finished in Boston where she learned the craft with established professionals before moving to the Berkshires in 1991. Her many consultations with do-it-yourself homeowners inspired her to create workshops to assist homeowners in achieving their own successful design projects. Erica has a long history in the world of dance, where she choreographs ballets and musicals. She is an ordained Tendai Buddhist minister and a certified yoga instructor. Erik Bruun
Erik Bruun has lived in Great Barrington and raised his three adult children--Elizabeth, Andrew and Rebecca--for forty years. He was the founding board president of the Railroad Street Youth Project for ten years and serves on the board of the Community Development Corporation of South Berkshires.

Eugene R. Fidell
Gene Fidell is an adjunct at Yale and NYU Law Schools and of counsel at the Washington firm of Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP. He and his wife, Linda Greenhouse, divide their time between New Haven and Stockbridge. A New York native, Gene's specialty is Military Justice, about which he has written extensively, including "Military Justice: A Very Short Introduction" (Oxford 2016). His opinion pieces on politics and other contemporary issues have appeared in numerous print and online media.
Evelyn Battaglia
Evelyn Battaglia has been an arch inhabitant of the lifestyle publishing space for over two decades, notably crafting magazine stories and curating best-selling books on cooking, entertaining, and weddings for Martha Stewart Omnimedia. As a contented NYC expat, Evelyn relishes digging in her garden, hiking with her rambunctious dog, and soaking up the local music scene, among other Berkshire-ly pursuits.

Ann and Andy are the principals of the Williamstown firm Burr and McCallum Architects, founded in 1982. Fiona Breslin
Born in New York City and raised in Western Massachusetts, Fiona Breslin draws and writes about style for which she has an innate affinity. She attended The New School, where she concentrated in journalism, and is now training at Parsons The New School For Design to become a more proficient sketcher. She splits her time between New York and Great Barrington.
Fiona Scruggs
Born in Tübingen, Germany, Fiona Scruggs is a writer, dancer, choreographer, researcher, and educator. She is a writer and digital content producer at Bard College at Simon’s Rock and a teaching artist at Berkshire Pulse. She is currently a Teaching Artist Fellow through the Massachusetts Cultural Council Creative Youth Development program and is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher. She is the former School Programs Coordinator at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, where she researched, wrote, and curated an archival collection about The School at Jacob’s Pillow’s 90-year history and legacy. Her choreography has been presented at the 5x5 Dance Festival (Connecticut), The Foundry, Berkshire Theatre Group’s Unicorn Theatre, the New Rochelle Arts Fest, and Radford University. Fiona received a bachelor's degree in dance education, summa cum laude, from Radford University, where she received several fellowships and grants to conduct research and choreography in France and the U.S. on the life, career, and legacy of Josephine Baker, which she has presented at numerous regional conferences.
Frances Roth
Frances Roth’s writing has been greatly informed by her 20 years in theater as an actress and singer. She has toured the United States with two national companies - 'The King and I' with Yul Brynner and' Man of LaMancha' with Richard Kiley – and has sung with choruses of both the New York Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. “After all those years developing characters for the stage it was a natural transition to creating characters for the page,” she says. “I write poetry and short fiction and enjoy performing my spoken-word pieces for an audience.” Frances also writes poetry and has had several poems published in the literary nature journal Avocet. She has given readings at the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers and the Mad River Literary Festival. She has also presented workshops on writing to prompts and how to read poetry and fiction out loud.
Francoise Lartigue
Francoise Lartigue has a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Babson College and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College. Her career began as a Technology Consultant in Boston, and transitioned, through Teach For America, to be a Kindergarten teacher in New York City. Currently, she represents New Marlborough on the Southern Berkshire Regional School Districts’ School Committee. She continues to explore both technology and education while she and her husband raise their three children in New Marlborough, Massachusetts.
Fred Clark
Housatonic resident Fred Clark is an architect for the state of New York, a member of the Great Barrington Affordable Housing Trust and a former member of the Berkshire Hills Regional School Committee.
Fred Kent and Kathy Madden
Fred Kent and Kathy Madden are the founders of the Project for Public Spaces in New York and the Social Life Project, whose mission is to highlight what makes public spaces thrive, drawing from communities around the world. Their work grows out of more than 40 years devoted to studying public spaces.
Freke Vuijst
Freke Vuijst is American correspondent for the Dutch magazine, Vrij Nederland. She is an award-wiing documentary film maker and the author of four books. Her latest book "Alias Fortezza, a Hacker's Odyssey" will be released by Audible later this year. She has lived in Great Barrington for forty years.
Gabriel Lord Kalcheim
Gabriel Lord Kalcheim was born in New York, and grew up regularly attending theatre there, and classical music concerts over the summer at Tanglewood in the Berkshires. He studied Philosophy and Classics at the University of Chicago (BA 2013) where he reviewed theatre for the Chicago Maroon, and opera and classical music for Chicagocritic.com. He attended school in New York but has spent summers, and school holidays in the Berkshires where his mother grew up. Kalcheim is an amateur violinist and played in his university's symphony orchestra, and in various chamber groups.
Gabriel Napoleon
Gabriel Napoleon was raised in Kent, Conn. After college, he started out reporting for The Millerton News in neighboring Dutchess County, N.Y., and relocated to Great Barrington in 2016. Besides writing, Napoleon enjoys seeing movies, learning to cook, walking in the woods, and avoiding injury from a passion for skateboarding held onto from childhood.
Galina Rozenblum
Galina Rozenblum is a Becket resident since 2007. She holds amaster degree in musicology from Kishinev conservatory in Moldova.
Gardiner Morse
Gardiner Morse is a contributing editor and former senior editor at Harvard Business Review where he focused on health care, innovation, and sustainability. Before joining HBR, he served in various editorial and business roles at the New England Journal of Medicine Group working across consumer and physician health care publications. He divides his time between Boston and New Marlborough and spends as much time as humanly possible outdoors, among other projects volunteering with the New Marlborough Land Trust and Appalachian Mountain Club. He hopes to see a mountain lion one day, but from a safe distance.
Gary Leveille
Gary Leveille is presently buried beneath piles of vintage photographs as the Great Barrington Historical Society's volunteer archivist. He has over 35 years' experience as a writer, editor, humorist, researcher, photographer, author, publisher and newspaper columnist. Gary served as a senior editor and editorial project supervisor for Hasbro Games in Springfield, Massachusetts. He is also the author of several books about the Southern Berkshires.
Gary Stoller
Gary Stoller is a retired dentist who moved to Great Barrington in 2010 from Columbia County, NY, after practicing dentistry in Hudson for 34 years. A long-time peace and justice activist, he now advocates for climate action as the fossil fuel divestment coordinator for 350MASS-Berkshires and works with their coordination team. When not traveling the world, much of his spare time is spent growing, cooking, and eating organic vegetables.
George Cami
Chef George Cami was trained as a chef in his native Greece. After immigrating to the United States, he worked in two different Greek restaurants in Astoria, Queens. In 2001, he moved to Great Barrington and opened Aegean Breeze. He loves working in the Berkshires where people appreciate healthy food, well prepared. Aegean Breeze is a family affair. George’s wife Irina Barka helps him run the restaurant, and now his 18-year-old son is learning to cook.
