To the editor:
I am writing this letter in support of electing Leigh Davis to the Great Barrington Selectboard Tuesday, May 14. Leigh is a hard-working, thoughtful, compassionate and community-minded person whose range of work and life experience will serve Great Barrington very well.
While I don’t live in Great Barrington, I care about what happens there and I am excited that she is running for a wide variety of reasons. Over the past two years, we have seen women all over Berkshire County and across the country step up to public service as elected officials and we are stronger and better for it. Currently, only 20 percent of the Great Barrington Selectboard is female, and it is time to have more equal representation.
All of us in Berkshire County are fortunate she is stepping up to the plate, and I encourage everyone in Great Barrington to vote for her on May 14.
