Seasons Greetings

Seasons Greetings: Illustration and poem for the holiday season from Belle Fox-Martin.
Christmas

Come the light.

Come take

the frozen fields.

Reach out from the

speechless snow,

Touch the marrow,

Ease the brow.

Lay down against

The bitter and the mute.

Pull our sight into the jagged wind

Letting loose nameless memories

and break them from our faces.

Let them fall somewhere

where they can’t be found.

Come the light,

Forgive our brokenness,

Forgive us as though

We had never met before,

As though we had always

Followed that star.
