“The retreat brings people together, builds community in the forest, gets participants outside and off their screens, and uses nature sustainably to heal and inspire minds and souls,” stated Great Mountain Forest Executive Director Michael Zafros. Retreat registration closes on July 30.
In the summer of 2003, the Bizalions made a dozen trips to the Berkshires before settling on Great Barrington, where they decided their concept was “doable.”
After the planning board crafted a set of zoning regulations to deal with pot earlier this year, the selectboard reviewed them and most thought the regulations were a bit too lax since they would allow cultivation by-right in too many zones.
The Bizalions have seen an outpouring of support from the community and, given the relief no one was hurt, there have been plenty of jokes on social media and at the store, just to make this retail setback somewhat bearable.
