“The retreat brings people together, builds community in the forest, gets participants outside and off their screens, and uses nature sustainably to heal and inspire minds and souls,” stated Great Mountain Forest Executive Director Michael Zafros. Retreat registration closes on July 30.
The grant from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration is part of a $396 million federal allocation, $12 million of which will be shared by 38 Massachusetts-based community health centers.

Developers Michael Charles and Brian Cohan are still due for their site plan review at the planning board and will continue to work with the historical commission. They will also collaborate with the town on a number of conditions attached to the permit. The Powerhouse Square project is expected to break ground by summer.
According to the Berkshire Co-op Market's general manager Daniel Esko, if the store has to leave the downtown to expand, both the town and its residents would lose a valuable resource.
In her letter to the editor, Beth Carlson writes: “This looks like a big supermarket store. The design does not incorporate the concept of a community gathering place, one of the essential functions of the Co-op.”
The Co-op will extend its current discount for seniors who are Co-op owners so that it applies to all seniors who shop at the Co-op whether or not they are Co-op owners. The 10 percent senior discount, which will also take effect on Oct. 1.
In a letter to the editor, Co-op manager Daniel Esko writes: "We have asked representatives of the Green Tea Party to change the text of their communications and remove any previously posted flyers and statements... As of the writing of this letter, no changes have been made."
