“The retreat brings people together, builds community in the forest, gets participants outside and off their screens, and uses nature sustainably to heal and inspire minds and souls,” stated Great Mountain Forest Executive Director Michael Zafros. Retreat registration closes on July 30.
The Eagleton School in Great Barrington was shut down after its licenses were revoked over what the state said was a systemic culture of staff abuse of students and subsequent cover-ups of that abuse.
“Fundamental and grave concerns about health and safety and regulatory compliance at Eagleton School compromise the program's ability to provide a safe, healthy, and appropriate educational environment.”

Eagleton School is accredited by the Massachusetts Department of Education (DOE) and Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). In early January, Great Barrington police began an investigation into allegations of physical and emotional abuse of students.
