Once upon a time, the Rockwell images were not empty but reflective of what Stockbridge was. In 2015, at the same time that those images were unveiled at the UN, an important meeting was called to order and revealed what the village had become.
The Open Town Meeting does not exist for the Town government, but rather for the governed, the people, the citizens, the registered voters of the their town, to act on all matters and subjects presented, to approve, to reject, or to amend in accord with established rules of parliamentary procedure, so that the will of the people present and voting may be accomplished.
If the Proposition 2 ½ override for the renovation of Monument Mountain Regional High School fails in any of the three towns, the accompanying ballot item seeking approval for the project is rendered meaningless, and the renovation will not happen. Even the ballot question says it — and the results are binding.

Dr. Mark Sprague of Stockbridge writes: "I urge the voting community of Berkshire Hills Regional School District to make sure that they have all the necessary information they need to make an informed decision and to vote proactively on Election Day for our children's future and renovate Monument Mountain High School."
