Great Mountain Forest to host Nature Writing Retreat at Historic Yale Camp in Falls Village, Conn., Aug. 7 to 9

“The retreat brings people together, builds community in the forest, gets participants outside and off their screens, and uses nature sustainably to heal and inspire minds and souls,” stated Great Mountain Forest Executive Director Michael Zafros. Retreat registration closes on July 30.

The Great Barrington Fire Department would like to remind everyone to remain off the ice. Due to the warm winter it is not safe. If you witness someone fall through the ice please call 911 and wait for rescue personnel to arrive.

Roland B. Wheeler, 94, of North Egremont, 63-year veteran of volunteer Fire Department

Roland was employed as an electrician by Harland B. Foster, Inc. from 1945 until 1980. He continued his career working for out-of-state locals until his retirement.
