Great Mountain Forest to host Nature Writing Retreat at Historic Yale Camp in Falls Village, Conn., Aug. 7 to 9

“The retreat brings people together, builds community in the forest, gets participants outside and off their screens, and uses nature sustainably to heal and inspire minds and souls,” stated Great Mountain Forest Executive Director Michael Zafros. Retreat registration closes on July 30.

Technology enables social isolation. We are “always connected” but no less alone. Communication no longer includes human speech. We no longer need to hear or listen or see another human being to call it conversation. The light we are basking in is not another human being’s smile but the glow of a computer screen.
