“The retreat brings people together, builds community in the forest, gets participants outside and off their screens, and uses nature sustainably to heal and inspire minds and souls,” stated Great Mountain Forest Executive Director Michael Zafros. Retreat registration closes on July 30.
Throughout the day, experts and practitioners from a range of industries will share their perspectives on opportunities in sustainable investing and their successes and aspirations in green finance.
At the Lenox Library pajama night stories will be read by Lenox Board of Selectmen Chairman David Roche, Lenox Public Schools superintendent Timothy Lee, the Bookstore proprietor Matt Tannenbaum, Lenox Community Center youth services coordinator Michelle Messana and Lenox Library youth librarian Katie Wallick.
'All in the Timing' is directed by Mount Everett Regional High School student Charles Kerzner and the cast is comprised of students from Taconic High School, Bard College at Simon's Rock and the Darrow School.
“Lovers' Spat: Shakespeare's Famous Couples’ Encounters” will include scenes between Shakespearean characters Beatrice and Benedict, Oberon and Titania, Romeo and Juliet, Hermia and Lysander, Kate and Hotspur, Kate and Petruchio, Richard and Lady Anne and more.
The Hillsdale ArtsWalk will encompass a variety of art media spanning painting, ceramics and pottery, woodcraft, photography, custom jewelry, found object art, mixed media, fabric art, and metalwork.
Acceptable materials for the paint and oil collection are oil-based paint, stains, paint thinners, spray paint and turpentine, as well as waste motor oil.
"Facing Our Truth": Reflecting on race relations in the United States, this collection of one-acts was inspired by events surrounding the Trayvon Martin case.
