“The retreat brings people together, builds community in the forest, gets participants outside and off their screens, and uses nature sustainably to heal and inspire minds and souls,” stated Great Mountain Forest Executive Director Michael Zafros. Retreat registration closes on July 30.
Commissions rolled in and Thomas Cole was able to afford a summer studio in Catskill on the west bank of the Hudson (his home, a National Historic Site, is an hour’s drive due west of Great Barrington on Route 23).
One of the real strengths of River Crossings is its broad range. There are almost thirty artists represented here, and many of them are every bit as intriguing as Sherman, Nozkowski and LeDray.
