“The retreat brings people together, builds community in the forest, gets participants outside and off their screens, and uses nature sustainably to heal and inspire minds and souls,” stated Great Mountain Forest Executive Director Michael Zafros. Retreat registration closes on July 30.
In a letter to the editor, Steve Farina writes "The essence of this petition is to ensure that all registered voters have the opportunity to share on any issue brought before the meeting attendees without being shut out by parliamentary procedure."
In his letter, Gary Johnston writes: My involvement with the town has been extensive and varied over the past 45 years which I feel validates the qualifications to be elected to the Select Board.
Without really paying close attention, we have lost our town. Paranoia, anger, suspicion, rumor, irritation, anxiety have replaced a sense of belonging.
The Open Town Meeting does not exist for the Town government, but rather for the governed, the people, the citizens, the registered voters of the their town, to act on all matters and subjects presented, to approve, to reject, or to amend in accord with established rules of parliamentary procedure, so that the will of the people present and voting may be accomplished.
