The administrative leave and resignation letter was signed by Department of Public Works Superintendent Joseph Aberdale and Town Manager Liz Hartsgrove on June 29.
The administrative leaves comes two days after the town released a forensic audit investigating an infrastructure project. The town is currently being sued by the contractor over unpaid bills related to the project.
On Thursday, June 4, Town Manager Liz Hartsgrove issued a statement that said the Selectboard will request funding to cover unpaid invoices at the Special Town Meeting on June 29.
Despite a lack of a fiscal 2027 budget, 22 staff members, including teachers, found out via email that they were laid off during the school day on Tuesday, May 19.
